The project also includes a 750m² urban forest planted around the logistics building. The planting of trees native to the region will enable a natural ecosystem rich in biodiversity to be recreated, following the Miyawaki* method.
"GSE and Alderan wanted to set up this forest in order to promote biodiversity as much as possible and, above all, to develop an ecological concept that is relatively unknown in France and whose results are convincing. Logistics platforms rarely give pride of place to green spaces and artificialise large areas of land. With the implementation of these important biodiversity concentrates, we are effectively offsetting part of our impact." says Julien Guiot, Project Director at GSE.
The Miyawaki method creates optimal conditions for trees to grow very quickly. The micro-forest is adapted to small spaces in urban areas with a density of 3 trees per square metre, producing 20 times more biodiversity.
The employees of the future operators will be the participants in this plantation in order to create a link between them and their future working environment.
* Professor Akira Miyawaki is a Japanese botanist renowned for bringing his method of native forest creation to restore our ancestral forests. His approach, in addition to fulfilling an important environmental function, fits into the real economy and creates social ties while bringing well-being benefits.

The building will be “BREEAM Good” certified and is the subject of a "green building site" charter taking into account many aspects of construction such as water and energy management, pollution, waste treatment but also the materials used.
The building houses an intelligent warehouse lighting system that adapts to the needs of each operator with the aim of optimising user comfort and energy consumption.
"This certification is the fruit of a common will and shared efforts on the part of all the project's stakeholders. It once again confirms our desire to develop state-of-the-art, high-performance, sustainable sites with a controlled environmental impact." says Julien Guiot, Project Director at GSE.
ALDERAN, a Property Portfolio Management Company, has entrusted GSE with the construction of a logistics platform of 35,598 m² multi-user space within the Parc Logistique Sud Lorraine at 1, rue de l'Europe in Fontenoy sur Moselle.
This platform, with a clear height of 10.50m, integrates 76 loading bays in the facades. The complex will also include 2,500 m² for the management and support teams of the various occupants. The innovative construction system makes it possible to ensure easy handling for greater speed, a very large storage capacity for high efficiency and solid equipment for enhanced security of the warehouse, people and goods combined with a pleasant working environment.
This new logistics site will be used in particular for the dry storage of agri-food products for the company EpiSaveurs (POMONA Group) and for the mass storage of courier services for VIAPOST. Three cells (of approximately 4,000m², 4,500m² and 6,000m² respectively) remain open for sales.
The cells will be arranged in a cross-dock layout, enabling supply flows to be articulated and crossed in order to move goods from the arrival docks to the departure docks, without necessarily passing through the stock.
Thanks to its proximity to the Nancy conurbation, this new logistics site will give its occupants a greater presence in the Grand-Est region and close to all the major cities in the area.
GSE is building a multi-user logistics platform on behalf of ALDERAN, a property portfolio management company and its logistics fund ORGANA III, in Fontenoy-sur-Moselle (54), on the outskirts of Nancy.
The site will notably host the activities of POMONA, the French leader in the distribution of food products to professionals in the food industry, and VIAPOST, the French e-commerce logistics specialist, a subsidiary of the La Poste Group.
